We've had a quick walk through the city to get more oriented. The city is full of both old and modern architecture - and people! There are basically people everywhere, ha-ha. Anyway, me and Ane have been out for lunch. We're driving safe with spring rolls and noodles, so there is no cat or octopus for us by the time we're here. As I've mentioned, we've just walked around town. looking at the people and the shops, though we also went to Zadok Ben-David at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. It was full of Asian outdoor sculptures, who had been compellingly installed in the lush landscape.
It's actually one of the worlds best botanic gardens who's offering the highest quality of fine and decorative art and jewellery in the world. The best thing about this, though, is that were able to get this unique exhibition for free. That's what we call the icing on the cake! As you see from the pictures we've been quite lucky with the weather here too, and it's much warmer with its 26 degrees. We also went to a huge tower so we could have a great view of down town Singapore.
Did you know though, that Singapore means Lion City? The legend says that once, an emperor visited the city and thought he saw a black faced lion, well, it was actually a tiger, but he wouldn't know, however that's how Singapore got its name. Fascinating, right?
Tomorrow we're taking the bus to "Gardens by the Bay" a great event, whom we have been told is a must if you go to Singapore.
