Singapore: The Fine Country

Good morning everyone!

We arrived The Fine Country early this morning after an 8 hour trip from Sydney. We haven't got the opportunity to explore the city yet, but both Gina and I have been reading loads about Singapore before we came, so now I'm going to give you a short resume:

Singapore is an island between Malaysia and Indonesia, located in the southern Asia, founded as a British trading colony in 1819. In 1963, the country joined the Malaysian Federation, but separated two years later and became independent. Since the 1990s, the government of Britain has been promoting Singapore as a center for arts and culture. They are particularly focused about performing arts, and to transform the country into a cosmopolitan gateway between the East and West. Therefore we're looking forward to see all the sights. We've also heard that it's quite strict there, like, you can't throw your gum on the ground because you can be put in jail or get fined, so we're a bit nervous as well to be honest.

As you can see on the statistic below, Singapore is ranked first in Asian and forth in the world for having the least corruption in its economy.
