Hey guys!
We're back at the hotel after an amazing night from the Mid- Autumn Festival, which is celebrated in Singapore's Chinatown. They celebrate the family unity this time of year when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, and we can assure you, it were.
One of the locals could tell us that this Chinese tradition, in which case the roundness of the moon, symbolizes unending family unity. Other than putting up lanterns, the Chinese families gathered around for tea and sample sweets like moon cakes and pomelos.
However, Chinatown was decorated with bright vibrant lanterns and we enjoyed the fun activities very much, such as lantern painting and shopping at one of the festive bazaar. We experienced this as a rich cultural experience. It kind of reminded us of Thanksgiving, only not the stereotypical American family gathered together around a big kitchen table. One of the locals showed us where we could join the lantern walk, and it was fantastic. It felt like you were a part of something bigger, and we tried to soak up the atmosphere around us as much as possible. All we can say is that the even was indescribable.

We've learned so much about Singapore's cultural diversity and its rich heritage, as well as the festival which is a thousand year-old tradition. Imagine that. It was without a doubt an authentic experience which we will remember as long as we live.
