Finally visited all of the attractions we've talked about earlier! Sydney Aquarium,Taronga Zoo and the Museum of Sydney was truly amazing.
Sydney Aquarium is divided into different places you can visit, so you can go wherever you find it most enjoyable. First we went at Rocky Shores. The animals that lived there has to be adaptable to their surroundings as they often have to deal with wide ranges of physical and environmental factors, such as action, tides, temperature, changes and salinity changes in the water. Where the surging waves met the rocks, we found a unique group of animals and plants. The cool thing about this, though, is that they are able to withstand the harsh environment.
After the Aquarium, we went to Shark Walk & Shark Valley. Finally we could face our fears to the sharks under water! As we entered the deep ocean cave, shark fossils lied around us with the history of where sharks first began. As we left the dark waters behind, sharks and rays glided between us and then we saw it. The tumbled-down ruins of the giant face of the temple guardian emerged in front of us. Seeing as we didn't have much time that day to join further facilities at the Aquarium, because of our tight schedule, we went off to the great Museum of Sydney. Mainly has its focus based from the colony time, through pictures, maps, multimedia and historical things. The museum opened in 1994, so it's quite new, and was built on the ruins of the house of Australia's first governor-general, Governor Phillip. The original house, which was Australia's first Government House, was built in 1788 and exposed by archaeologists in the 1980s.
Afterwards, we went to Taronga Zoo, a zoo that was opened in 1916, which lies in the district of Mosman. With over 1600 animals, it's one of the worlds biggest zoos. As you can see, we took pictures of some of the typical Australian animals, such as the platypus, the kenguru and the koala. They also had dingo, tasmanian devils and emus.
We're still lucky about the weather, thank god. It was nice and warm, 21 degrees, way better than Norway!
