At the moment we're busy packing our suitcases for the trip. We've decided to go to Singapore and Australia. The reason why we're going there is firstly because both countries got a long and interesting history and secondly there's lot's of activities for tourists to join there too. We're both very excited, and we can't really believe that it takes that many hours from Norway to Australia! So I suppose we won't get much sleep today and tomorrow. I don't really know how Ane is going to cope with the time difference, though.
So, we've booked a hotel in Sydney, and we'll arrive in the morning, then we'll have plenty of time to explore the city and relax at Bondi Beach. However, both me and Ane have been reading a lot about Australia, and this is some basic facts that we found out:

Australia is a country in Oceania with a population of approximately 21,5 million habitants, situated south for Papua New Guinea and Indonesia separated by the Arafura Sea. The country is mainly Christian, but like Norway, they also have religions such as buddhism, jewism and sikhism.
Australia is the 6th biggest country in the world in area, covering more than 7,5 million square kilomets. That's almost twenty-four times the area of Norway!
The Land Down Under is the flattest continent in the world. The mojor part of the population lives in the south-east and south-west corner of Australia, in the sub tropic climate. The Northern part of Australia has a tropical climate and consist of deserts, rainforest, plains and mangrove sumps.
Over to the more cultural bit. Austalia is the home of many famous bands, such as ACDC, Cold Chisel and The Easybeats - remember Friday on My Mind from the 60's for instance?
